The LLF Accelerator is a programme dedicated to empowering and propelling the growth of leather designers and entrepreneurs in an effort to foster innovation, business development and industry expertise. Through the programme, emerging leather brands will gain access to resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
The curriculum will be tailored to cover crucial aspects of the industry, including product design, manufacturing, branding, marketing, and e-commerce strategies. It will also feature guidance and mentorship from industry experts. Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, the programme will also facilitate access to funding opportunities, marketplaces, and distribution channels.

Course Curriculum
All participants will be learning
Module 1: Foundations of Leather Craft Entrepreneurship
Participants will learn about the overview of the leather industry, market research, opportunity identification and business planning and strategy.
Module 2: Essential Leatherworking Skills
Participants will learn leather crafting techniques, product design and prototyping in leatherwork and quality control.
Module 3: Business Operations and Management
Participants will learn how to handle supply chain management, production workflow optimisation and financial management for leather entrepreneurs.
Module 4: Branding and Marketing Strategies
Participants will learn about brand development and positioning, digital marketing for leather entrepreneurs, sales and customer relationship management.
Module 5: Scaling and Sustainability
Participants will learn about scaling production and operations, accessing funding and resources, social and environmental responsibility.
Module 6: Pitching and Networking Strategies
Participants will learn pitching skills for leather entrepreneurs and networking strategies.

Is there a cost associated with participating in the program?
No, the program is completely free.
What are the eligibility criteria?
Entrepreneurs between the ages of 18-40 with small sized businesses between 0 - 36 months in operations.
How do I know if my application is successful?
You will get an email confirmation.
What is the application deadline?
Application closes on the 28th April 2024.
Is it a virtual program or onsite?
It is an intensive 6-week virtual program.

Will participants have access to funding or investment opportunities through the program?
Grants will only be given to the TOP THREE participants. Please note that having a WEMA Bank Account is one of the eligibility criteria to access the grant.
Are there opportunities for further learning?
Yes, there are. Access to other resources that would aid our learning would be given by our instructors.
Are there any prerequisites for joining the program?
Yes, here are the eligibility criteria to join:
• Your leather business must have been operating for no longer than 36 months
• All leather products must locally made and produce in Africa
• ONLY accessories designers or leather apparel designers will be considered, NOT fashion designers
Are there networking opportunities with other participants in the programme?
Yes there would be networking sessions during the course of the program.
